Land Acknowledgement

I would like to take this time to acknowledge us our ancestors and us in this moment. For me, I am going to think about my ancestors from Mi'kmaki also known as Nova Scotia. Today I am honoured to perform on the traditional territory of many welcoming Indigenous Nations. This land of Tkaronto has been taken care of by the Anishinabee Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Huron- Wendat and the Métis. I thank you for taking care of the water, plants and animals that we share today. As we come together to collaborate in art, I hope that we can carry forward the positive ways of our ancestors and remember empathy. Thank you for reading.
